Leonard Cohen (1934-2016)
Leonard Cohen, the Canadian-born poet who became one of the most influential songwriters of his generation, has died at 82. Cohen’s songs – the best-known were “Suzanne,” “Bird on a Wire” and “Hallelujah” – were taken up by musicians of all genres, from folk, rock and country singers to art-music composers.
