* In Richmond: “Summer at CenterStage,” presented by the Richmond Symphony, the University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University and the downtown performing arts center, opens its weekly series of chamber-music concerts with violinist Daisuke Yamamoto and pianist Richard Becker, July 10 in Richmond CenterStage’s Gottwald Playhouse, with further programs of Brahms, Schumann, Beethoven, Grieg and others on Thursdays through July and August.
* Noteworthy elsewhere: The Castleton Festival, presented by conductor Lorin Maazel and his wife, Dietlinde Turban Maazel, at their estate in Rappahannock County, stages Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly,” concerts featuring flutist James Galway and cellist Alisa Weilerstein, chamber music, vocal recitals and more, through July 20.
