Directors' opera (con't.)


In the wake of the "Tosca" uproar at the Metropolitan Opera, Peter Gelb, the Met's general director, and the stage directors of the two upcoming productions in the house, Patrice Chéreau (Janácek’s "From the House of the Dead") and Patrick Sher (Rossini's "The Barber of Seville"), discussed "cognitive theater" with Paul Holdengräber at the New York Public Library.
