Donald Erb, a prominent American avant-garde composer, known for his mixtures of standard instrumentation with electronics and the sounds of "found objects," has died at the age of 81. His obituary in the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

Clarke Bustard: A music critic and cultural writer based in Richmond, VA, Bustard has written for the Richmond Times-Dispatch since 1971. He also has contributed to Style Weekly in Richmond, Symphony and Chamber Music magazines, the webzine NewMusicBox and other publications. Bustard is a recipient of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for music writing, as well as awards from state and national press associations.
